When English-born magazine photographer Lila Harris inherits a half share in a vineyard in Central Otago, New Zealand, she travels from Paris to claim her inheritance and face memories of the past. There she meets Luc Valdes, the other shareholder, who has already formed an opinion of her and believes her to be an uncaring, selfish English woman, who wants to sell the property and leave with money in her pocket. 

From the moment they meet sparks fly. Lila’s shocking resemblance to her aunt takes Luc by surprise but he’s not prepared to give up the vineyard he planted by hand without a fight. And Lila is not about to be pushed around by some rude Italian guy, no matter how good looking he is. 

As Lila struggles with her attraction to Luc, a secret love story spanning more than 30 years comes to light and she is suddenly forced to confront the truth about the two women who featured so prominently in her life – her mother and her aunt… twins, Lily and Rose.
